Hubby had to go to Angkor Wat thrice to capture the temple ruins in different dramatic colors – sunrise, sunset and some time during the day.
During the sunset visit, Little T and I stayed behind. My sister kept us company. So we sat by the river bank and enjoyed the view of Angkor Wat from across the moat.
There were little kids begging. Our guide advised us not to give money, but instead donate to a proper channel, a help organisation, that can make sure that these kids get education and food. According to our guide, money from begging can lead the kids or the parents of these kids to buy things that are not necessary – cigarettes, beer or what not.
If we couldn’t resist from giving, then we should give food instead, he said.
