The first time I ate stroopwafels was at a coffeeshop in Solna Centrum. Later, I found where I could buy them cheaper at the store TGR. I didn’t know what they were called until I came to Amsterdam 2015 where they abound.
Stroopwafels became popular in the 1700s in the Netherlands. In Sweden, then are called honungskakor (direct translation: honey cookies).
