We are not the romantic type who celebrate Valentine’s day, but we wanted to relax that weekend with the kid, so we went on a 24-hour cruise.
When we booked the cruise, we were not fully aware that M/S Cinderella was a full-fledged party boat. It was music and dance all night long.
People on the cruise came from all walks of life. But some drank much more than the others. 🙂
The first thing we did was to find our room on the seventh floor. It was directly under the disco area, and we would discover later that it was BAD to sleep under the disco floor. In the middle of the night, we asked to be moved to a quieter tenth floor.
Booking a facial at the spa was the second thing we did upon arrival. I was irritated by the “pay-upon-booking”-policy. But I guess that in the past, some guests failed to show up due to excessive partying and drinking, so the spa attendants had to be strict.
Dinner at Ocean Grill, a nice restaurant. The lobster dish was so delicious that we came back the next day for lunch. Alas the luncheon version was not as fantastic. The dish cost 199 crowns per plate.
The disco had three floors: the top floor for smokers and the second floor has a good view of people dancing on the first floor.
Interestingly, people didn’t need a partner to dance with. Many danced on their own. I felt inspired. and wanted to dance myself. My six-year old daughter tagged behind to stop me, but in vain. She stayed near the dance floor and supported me anyway. Later, even hubby danced. We danced like two goofies just to tease our daughter. 😉
A DJ, Gretchen, and his band came to entertain. He wore a sequined swimsuit with bright-colored feathers on the shoulders. I taught my daughter the concept “transvestite” and she understood it: “Like Yohio,” she said.
I had to wake up at 8 am for the breakfast buffet and the spa session.
The breakfast was generous. It was included in the cruise price of 200 crowns.
Caviar facial treatment
I came an hour earlier before my caviar facial treatment. Access to the relax room and pools was included in the facial treatment price of 750 crowns. It was worth the money.
I am glad that I came at 9 am, I had the whole spa area all to myself.
The caviar facial treatment, compared to the other services, had facial massage included. Yum!
The attendant informed that cruises before salary day have less passengers.
We shopped for over 1200 crowns – that entitled us to a free cruise ticket with a room for two-four people until May 2015.
But in total we spent nearly 4000 crowns for just an overnight stay.
